CUB Welcomes New Legal Assistant / Office Manager

In early October, CUB was thrilled to welcome our new Legal Assistant/Office Manager, Thomas Jerin. Thomas will support CUB’s regulatory team with filings and other administrative responsibilities. In addition, Thomas will handle office manager duties and generally keep the office running smoothly.

Thomas completed the paralegal program at Portland Community College in 2017. In 2019, he graduated cum laude from Portland State University with a degree in economics. He took several accounting classes over the course of his studies, so he is well prepared to handle organizational financial management tasks.

Thomas comes to CUB after working as staff for several law firms in the Portland area, where he learned a great deal about best practices in the field. He also served three years as the chair of the Sustainability Committee at a large law firm in Portland, known for its volunteer work and green initiatives.

When asked what excites him most about joining CUB, Thomas responded: “It’s a real honor to serve Oregonian utility customers and to dedicate my work life to making a difference. Consumer protection and climate change are causes that are very dear to me and working for CUB provides a unique opportunity to have an impact on both of those issues.”

Thomas has joined CUB during a busy time, even without the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, but is fitting right in. Thomas’s eager, friendly attitude and professional experience will make him a real asset to the team here at CUB. Please join us in welcoming Thomas!
