In early Summer, 2020, the CUB staff was pleased to welcome our new Law Clerk, Eddie Kelinsky. Eddie was selected for this position after a competitive hiring process. Eddie’s legal research skillset and passion for energy law and policy stood out in his application, and he has already been helpful in a number of ongoing dockets. His background and passion for public interest law also aligns nicely with CUB’s mission of protecting utility consumers.
Eddie was born and raised in Pasadena, CA and attended Santa Clara University, double-majoring in Environmental Studies and Political Science with an emphasis in policy, law, and politics. He is a rising second-year law student at Lewis & Clark Law School, pursuing both his JD and an LLM in Environmental, Natural Resources, and Energy Law. Eddie has long been interested in energy law, as both his parents worked for an electric utility company. He is excited to learn about the challenges Oregon is facing in meeting its decarbonization goals while ensuring safe, affordable, and reliable energy for its residents.
During his first year at Lewis & Clark Law School, Eddie volunteered with the Northwest Environmental Defense Clinic and Public Interest Law Project. In his second year, Eddie is looking forward to taking courses on energy and utility law while contributing to the school’s Environmental Law Journal. After graduating, Eddie hopes to work in energy or environmental law somewhere in Oregon.
In his spare time, Eddie enjoys cooking, watching movies, and exploring the Portland area’s many parks, forests, and breweries.
Welcome, Eddie!
