CUB Bids Farewell to Essie Bender

With gratitude for the work accomplished while she was here, CUB announces the bittersweet news that Essie Bender, CUB’s office manager, has moved south to embark on a new career and personal adventure. Essie joined the CUB staff during the summer of 2018 after many years of working in Alaska in the fields of archaeology, education, and stormwater and erosion compliance. Her south moving trajectory continues as she is embarking on a new opportunity in southern Oregon.

During her time with us, Essie ably assisted CUB’s regulatory team with document preparation, filings to the Oregon Public Utility Commission, and keeping track of all the regulatory meetings that need to end up on our calendars. With good humor and a systems approach, Essie provided essential administrative support to our regulatory team.

Essie’s professional background served her well at CUB, where she also kept the office running smoothly with support for all staff ranging from payroll processing to financial recordkeeping and assistance at our annual energy policy conference. Essie improved our administrative procedures and leaves behind valuable knowledge that will jumpstart the training of her replacement.

Beyond being skilled at her profession, Essie was a pleasure to work with. I do not doubt that she will bring the same skill set and good nature to her new journey.

Thanks to Essie for her hard work and service to CUB. She was an important part of our team and will be missed. Join us in wishing Essie all the best in her new adventures!
