The third and final Fix-It-Fair, sponsored by the city’s Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, is coming up this Saturday, February 23rd. The fair will be open from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm at Ron Russell Middle School, 3955 SE 112th Ave.
The Fix-It-Fairs serve to educate the community about free resources that can help you stay healthy and save money through energy and water efficiency, recycling programs, and home and yard care. You can find us at our table at the fair, along with dozens of other organizations including our friends from Oregon Environmental Council, Growing Gardens, Friends of Trees, the Multnomah County Library, and many more!
Along with the exhibitors, there is also a robust class schedule with instructional hour-long workshops taking place all day long. Classes fall under four different categories: home and personal health; home repair and utility savings; sound money and safe homes; and yard and garden care. Additionally, at the fair you can get free lunch, free blood-lead testing, free childcare, and free bike-repair.
At our table, you can find our outreach materials on CUB Connects and EVs, two projects that really showcase the breadth of our work here at the CUB Policy Center. If you’re at the fair, make sure to drop by the table and say hi!
To keep up with CUB, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter!
