CUB at the Future Energy Conference

The Northwest Environmental Business Council is hosting their 11th annual Future Energy Conference in Portland on April 16th and 17th. Held at the Red Lion Hotel in Jantzen Beach, this two day event will bring together a wide range of members of the energy industry throughout the Pacific Northwest. CUB is proud to be a supporter of this event and will be participating in two event panels. CUB’s Organizing Director, Jeff Bissonnette, will be giving a mid-session legislative update in the “Report from Salem” panel on day one. For a primer on some of the bills CUB has been following this year, you can read our recent blog “CUB Watches Out for Consumers in the Legislature”. Also on this panel are presenters Douglas MacCourt from Ater Wynne, Margi Hoffman from the Office of Governor Kitzhaber and Brendan McCarthy from PGE to lend their expert perspectives. The following day, SA Anders (CUB’s Director of Operations) will be moderating a dynamic panel on Evaluation, Verification, and Measurement. She will be joined by Christopher Frye from Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, Lauren Gage from Bonneville Power Administration, and Jenny Roehm from PECI, who will explore the great opportunities and challenges to EV&M in the region.

Keynote speakers for the day include the new BPA Administrator Bill Drummond and Oregon PUC Chair Susan Ackerman. The event offers a variety of other panels each divided into four concurrent tracts: Energy in Context, The Business of Renewable Energy, The Business of Energy Efficiency and the Energy Sector. For a complete description of the event agenda, including panel summaries and speakers, see the event website. We are looking forward to a great event and the opportunity to connect with many of our partners. Registration is still open! Hope to see you next week.
