CUB’s Thanksgiving Top 10 List

In honor of Thanksgiving, we started to reflect on CUB’s past year. We have an endless list of accomplishments that could take up an entire blog post and we’ll definitely post one of those at the end of the year. Rather than focus on our successes, struggles and triumphs, it seems appropriate to highlight what we are thankful for, in 2012.

So, as has been done on the Late Show for a number of years, here are the Top 10 Reasons that CUB is Thankful for This Year:

10. We have dedicated volunteers working on research and organizational projects, helping us accomplish old and new goals.
9. Gordon, our utility analyst, continues to write awesome energy-focused haiku.
8. We had an incredibly successful policy conference for the second year in a row and we couldn’t have done it without our partners, sponsors, participants, and attendees.
7. We are proud to work in a state that is open to progressive energy policies and innovative regulatory processes.
6. We hosted an AmeriCorps member through the Confluence Environmental Center over the last year and are excited to have another one on board this year!
5. We celebrated 20 years of Bob’s off-beat jokes this year—and his hard work too.
4. We have stellar allies that strengthen our efforts, diversify our perspective and help us stay informed.
3. We have smart, active and dedicated board members.
2. We have a great staff fighting for fair and affordable rates, progressive energy policies and a sustainable energy future.

And the number one reason why we at CUB are thankful for the past year…

1. Our members provide us with the energy we need to work our hardest and smartest!

Thank you for being with us this year, and for the last 28 years we’ve been working for you. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
