CUB is excited to announce that registration is now open for our third annual CUB Policy Conference, The Flexibility Challenge: Renewables, Efficiency, and Demand Response. For the past two years this event has brought together a sold-out audience that includes the Pacific Northwest’s best and brightest minds in the energy industry. Our Conference is designed to engage and educate utility analysts, policy analysts, attorneys, community stakeholders, and other professionals throughout the energy industry.
Our inaugural conference in 2011 focused on the opportunities and challenges in integrating the Smart Grid here in the Northwest. Then, in 2012, we discussed the bright future of Energy Efficiency and its impact on the region. This year, on October 25th, we will turn our attention to The Flexibility Challenge: Renewables, Efficiency, and Demand Response. This topic, which draws on the lessons learned and knowledge shared from previous Policy Conferences, will comprise a full day of workshops and discussion. We are thrilled to be partnering once again with the University of Oregon School of Law to host a full day of discussion, visioning, and networking at the White Stag Block at 70 NW Couch St., Portland OR 97209.
This year’s program will investigate the challenges that our utilities face in the Pacific Northwest, and concentrate on ways to successfully integrate renewables, energy efficiency, demand response, and other key resources and technologies into the flexible utility of the future. Panel topics will include:
- The Northwest’s Flexible Future
- Flexibility and Industrial/Agricultural Consumers: Tools for the Future Utility
- Flexible Resources: Wind Generation, Demand Response, and Energy Storage
- Flexibility and Distributed Generation: Localized Resources and the Future Utility
- Flexibility Through Markets: Imbalance Markets and the Future Utility
- Answering the Flexibility Challenge: Thirty Years from Now
Please join us as we look to the future of energy flexibility in the Pacific Northwest, and work together to build energy policymaking momentum and consensus. Once again, we anticipate offering CLE and BPI credits for OR, WA, ID and MT. We will keep you updated in the coming months as the conference takes shape, and look forward to seeing you in October! This conference has traditionally sold out prior to the event, so please register early to guarantee your attendance.
