June 26th Water and Wastewater Forum: Quizes and More!

Information!

Quiz show!

Wine – for those who wanted to imbibe!

All this and more occurred at the June 26th water and wastewater forum hosted by the City Club of Portland’s New Leaders Collective. A group of 20 had great questions after a panel discussion that began with a quiz show to provide some basic info about Portland’s water and sewer services in an interactive way, with a few laughs included.

The first section of the quiz involved matching the monthly utility bill with its average cost. The second and final section included three questions about the Portland Water Bureau and three about the Bureau of Environmental Services.

Attendees were also treated to presentations from Mike Rosenberger, general manager of the Rockwood Water People’s Utility District, Kent Craford, chief petitioner of Measure 26-156 that Portland voters rejected by 73 percent, and Lori Irish Bauman, lead writer of the City Club of Portland’s report that proposed a new way to set rates. CUB’s own Janice Thompson also presented about three elements of effective utility oversight. Click here for more presentation details.

Lots of interesting questions and discussions followed. Join us next time, or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to request Janice to give a presentation at your event!
