That’s a Wrap! 2022 CUB Energy Policy Conference

This year, we at CUB decided to do things a little differently for our annual conference. For our first in-person conference since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we chose to center community voices.
This conference’s theme, Energy Policy for the People, felt especially important for the needs of our time. For the past few years, we have seen many social uprisings around the world. In Oregon’s energy sector, a much quieter social change has been occurring.
More and more, Oregon’s energy policy is being shaped by the people most affected by the policies. We were honored to be by community leaders from across the Pacific Northwest. Many of this year’s speakers have been at the center of major shifts in our state’s utility policy. Others have been on the ground helping families navigate household challenges. Across the board, our panelists spoke to the challenges and needs of their communities in energy access, changing policy, and a people-centered future.
Thank you to all of our speakers and panelists for sharing your insights into where we go next. By highlighting the barriers to participation in the decision-making process, you help us move forward in doing better. By speaking about the impacts on the communities you come from and work with, you bring light to the problems that need to be addressed.
Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s sold-out conference. This year was the first-ever sold-out CUB Energy Policy Conference. We are grateful for your time, attention, and questions that helped drive the conversation forward.
