Save The Date for CUB’s 2018 Policy Conference

CUB is pleased to announce its eighth annual CUB Policy Conference, taking place on Friday, October 19, 2018.

Returning once again to the Downtown Portland Hilton, this full day of networking, interactive panels, and keynote lectures will begin with an introduction from CUB’s Executive Director, Bob Jenks and will continue with our highly acclaimed panel A View From The Top. Moderated by Bob, this year’s presentation will feature:

  • Dennis Vermillion - President, Avista Corporation
  • Maria Pope - President and CEO, Portland General Electric
  • Elliot Mainzer - Administrator, Bonneville Power Administration
  • Stefan Bird - President and CEO, Pacific Power
  • David Anderson - President and CEO, NW Natural
  • Darrell Anderson - President and CEO - Idaho Power

The CUB Policy Conference is specifically designed to educate analysts, attorneys, advocates, regulators, utility executives, and others working in and around the energy industry. As in past years, CUB plans to offer Oregon and Washington Bar Association Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits.

We will also be presenting the third annual Consumer Champion Award, which honors individuals who, through their industry leadership, policy innovations, and public service have contributed in a substantial way to the well-being of Oregon’s residential utility ratepayers. Past honorees were Margie Harris, founding director of the Energy Trust of Oregon (2016) and Senator Lee Beyer, former PUC Chair (2017). Stay tuned for a coming announcement of this year’s recipient!
