Registration Now Open for CUB’s 11th Annual Energy Policy Conference

Register today for the 2021 CUB Energy Policy Conference,

Registration is now open for CUB’s 11th annual energy policy conference, Changing Climates: Reliability and Resilience in our Energy Systems! Taking place in a virtual format on October 15, 2021, this conference will convene some of the brightest minds in the Pacific Northwest utility sector to explore how the massive shifts in our region’s natural environment and policy landscape are impacting grid reliability and resilience, and how we can make tomorrow’s energy system work for those most vulnerable in the face of climate change. You can read more about the conference theme (and find the registration link) on our 2021 CUB Conference website.

There is lots of exciting content in store for the day’s agenda, starting with The View From the Top: A Conversation with NW Utility Executives. Moderated by CUB Executive Director Bob Jenks, this panel offers a uniquely frank and wide-reaching view into the perspectives of our region’s major energy utilities on the topics of the day. This panel has become a consistent highlight of the CUB conference in recent years, and we expect this edition to be no exception. Participating utilities as of this writing include Avista, Bonneville Power Administration, Pacific Power, and Portland General Electric.

Rounding out the rest of the agenda, CUB staff will be moderating a set of four break-out panels: Heating our Buildings in a Changing Climate; Resilience: Who Is It Good For?; 100% Clean Electricity: What Does it Take?; and Meeting Oregon’s Energy Demand: Lessons from California and Texas. Stay tuned to the CUB Blog in the coming weeks, as we post special previews of each of these panel topics and the questions our expert panelists will discuss.

CUB is grateful to our generous sponsors for making this event possible, particularly Polar Bear sponsors NW Natural, Pacific Power, and Portland General Electric, as well as our Media Sponsor, Clearing Up.
