Pacific Power Bills Go Up January 1st

Light bulb in front of a graph with an increasing trend line

Pacific Power households will see a rate increase starting on January 1, 2024. The average residential customer will see an average monthly bill increase of $12.83 (11%). The impact of the bill increase varies depending on actual energy usage for residential and housing types.

These increases are due to changing costs of generating power. This happens every year based on changing fuel and production costs from the previous year.

Power Cost Updates: Fuel is More Expensive

The cost of electricity, natural gas, and coal has increased power costs for Pacific Power’s customers in Oregon. These costs are primarily driven by fluctuations in electricity markets and the price of natural gas.

Under Oregon rules, Pacific Power is allowed to update the cost of fuel for electricity generation each year.
