CUB Welcomes Summer Law Clerk Taylor Coronel

On Tuesday May 30, the CUB staff was pleased to welcome our Summer 2017 Law Clerk, Taylor Coronel. She is excited to learn from and work closely alongside CUB’s attorneys and other staff, and to support her fellow Oregon residents.

Taylor grew up in West Linn, Oregon and received a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon in 2009. She is currently a third year law student pursuing a certificate in Green Business Law at the University of Oregon School of Law. Taylor is very passionate about public interest work. She learned about CUB and the Public Utility Commission while taking a course in energy law in the Spring 2017 semester, and felt motivated to learn more. Taylor says, “Looking at CUB’s website, I was impressed with the way CUB fights both for ratepayer interests and for the environment. It was the first organization I’d ever heard of that had that kind of multi-faceted mission.”

Prior to joining CUB, Taylor interned for Our Children’s Trust and Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW) in Eugene, Oregon. After law school, she hopes to continue to work in the public interest in Oregon. Taylor finds the complexity of energy law exciting, and is considering possibilities for pursuing a long-term career in the energy sector. She is already diving into research on CUB dockets, starting with UM 1804, “NW Natural Holdco Application”.

In her spare time, Taylor loves traveling, hiking, reading thrillers, going to see live music with friends, and spoiling her fish, Larry.

Please join us in giving Taylor a hearty welcome!
