CUB Welcomes Fall Legal Extern, Delaney Behning

CUB is excited to welcome Delaney Behning (she/her) as our Fall Legal Extern. Delaney is a 2L at the University of Oregon School of Law and is very excited to learn more about utility regulation and environmental and consumer advocacy through this externship.

Delaney Behning, CUB’s Fall Legal Extern

Prior to law school, Delaney studied Political Science, Ethics & Public Policy, and Sustainability at the University of Iowa. There, she was involved in Undergraduate Student Government as the Director of Sustainability, worked as an intern for the Office of Sustainability and the Environment, and held leadership roles at the Food Pantry at Iowa.

Over the summers, she worked in government affairs for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, in youth empowerment for AmeriCorps, and most recently as a Climate Government Affairs Intern for Our Children’s Trust. These experiences, as well as seeing climate change impact her communities in Iowa, made her passionate about addressing climate change through a clean and equitable energy transition.

At the University of Oregon, she works as a Research Fellow for the Energy Law and Policy Project in the Environment and Natural Resources Center and as a co-director of the Green Business Initiative.

In her free time, Delaney loves hiking across the PNW, training for half and full marathons, enjoying non-law-school-related reading, camping with her friends and partner, Tom, and crafting on her recycled sewing projects.
