CUB Welcomes New Law Clerk Jackie Dewart

Summer 2021 CUB Law Clerk Jackie Dewart

On Monday, May 24, CUB staff were pleased to welcome our Summer Law Clerk, Jackie Dewart on her first day on the job. We hired Jackie as our 2021 Summer Law Clerk after a competitive hiring process due to her unique background, experience in energy law, and passion for working in the public interest.

Jackie grew up in the Portland suburbs and received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Brown University in 2017. She received a Masters in Energy Regulation and Legislation from Vermont Law School in 2020. She is now a rising 2L at Lewis & Clark Law School. Prior to joining CUB, Jackie worked on a community solar project with Vermont Law School’s Institute for Energy and the Environment, worked on conservation projects in Zion National Park and the Mojave Desert as an AmeriCorps member, and spent a summer working as a wildland firefighter in Southern Oregon. She loves the field of energy regulation because of its integration of economic concepts with legal principles.

During her first year of law school, Jackie was chosen as a Diehl Environmental Legacy Scholar and served as a 1L representative for the Environmental Law Caucus. In her second year, Jackie hopes to broaden her legal knowledge by taking courses in Business Associations, Telecommunications Law, and Consumer Protection. After law school, she hopes to continue working on energy issues and representing the interests of Oregonians.

In her spare time, Jackie loves skiing, running, playing board games, and her yearly camping trip with her family.

Please join us in welcoming Jackie to the team!
