The CUB staff and I are pleased to welcome a new member of our team, Sudeshna Pal, as an Economist. Sudeshna graduated with a Doctorate in Economics from West Virginia University. She then went on to work as Assistant Professor of Economics at Georgia College and State University before moving to Oregon with her husband. Prior to joining CUB she taught at Portland State University and continues to be an Adjunct faculty in their Economics department. She has several years of experience doing empirical economics research and teaching courses like Economics of Environmental Issues, Money and Banking, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics to undergraduate students.
In her spare time (if she manages to get any after catering to her five-year-old daughter) she loves to read, cook, and spend time with her family. She also loves travelling and is an ardent Zumba fan. Growing up in the culturally rich city of Kolkata, India, also made her a great fan of the arts and she occasionally participates in theatres and shows in the Bengali Community of the Greater Portland area.
While as an academician she has taught college students, analyzed data, and written research papers, she is now excited to make the transition to the dynamic energy sector where all the action happens, and looks forward to becoming a useful resource to the organization. Sudeshna will play an important role with CUB as she helps analyze utility resource plans to ensure that new investments provide benefits to utility customers.
Welcome, Sudeshna!
