CUB Welcomes Legal Extern Jason Frank

I join the rest of the CUB staff in extending a warm welcome to our Winter/Spring 2019 Legal Extern, Jason Frank. Jason is a second-year law student at Lewis & Clark Law School, pursuing a certificate in Energy, Innovation, and Sustainability. Prior to attending law school, he had the opportunity to partner with Energy Trust of Oregon to develop a plan to reduce the carbon footprint of certain residential properties he managed. As a result, residents appreciated living in socially responsible communities, and property owners enjoyed the long-term savings created by the retrofits. The multidimensional benefits that energy efficiency provided inspired Jason to enroll at Lewis & Clark to learn more about the world of energy policy and regulation.

Currently, Jason is a law clerk in the Office of General Counsel at the Bonneville Power Administration. He supports attorneys at BPA by conducting legal research and writing memoranda covering a wide range of issues. He is excited to work with CUB this spring and learn more about our advocacy work for residential ratepayers. Jason also looks forward to learning how the big changes currently underway in the energy sector will affect consumers, and how CUB will respond to them.

Prior to attending law school, Jason received a master’s degree in acting from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. He worked regionally in theater for several years, performing mostly in Shakespeare productions, but he did have a memorable stint as a Blue Man in New York for a few months.

While not in classes, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, playing board games, skiing, and rafting.

Welcome, Jason!
