CUB Says Goodbye to Pamela White, Development and Communications Director

Pamela While, CUB’s Development and Communications Director, is leaving CUB this month. CUB wishes her well.
Pamela started almost five years ago when CUB created the position of Development and Communications Director. The idea was to consolidate our development and communications activities into a single well-managed unit. Pamela succeeded in this endeavor and leaves behind effective systems that will continue to move our development and communications work forward.
The CUB Policy Conference has grown significantly under her management. We outgrew our original location, new sponsors were added, and revenue went up every year. Pamela established a process to get feedback from long-time key sponsors that we now use to improve the conference. I believe that our conference has become an important event within the larger Oregon energy community and Pamela deserves a lot of the credit.
Pamela has also increased our fundraising; including expanding our grant portfolio, supporting and increasing board involvement in giving, starting us toward a major gift program, and creating effective operations for our membership program.
Our communications efforts have been greatly improved. The CUB website has been beautifully updated, our newsletter and blog have become essential communication tools, and CUB has developed a strong social media presence.
Pamela has also provided support for the organization beyond her department. She co-led CUB’s process in developing a 2016-19 strategic plan; organized an effective and efficient board elections process, was instrumental in organizing and leading our yearly board/staff retreats, and supported our Board Development Committee to empower a strong, active Board of Directors.
Finally, as Executive Director, Pamela has supported me, offering encouragement on tough days, and compliments on good days. I have never doubted that she wanted the best; for me personally, for the organization, and for our members/donors. She demonstrated daily through her work, attitude, and dedication to our mission, that she believes in what we do.
On behalf of CUB’s staff, Board of Governors, and members, we wish Pamela the best of luck as she embarks on new adventures.
