BOB: Bearded and Boisterous for 20 years

Throughout the year we are going to be Celebrating 20 years of Bob Jenks as CUB's Executive Director. Bob was hired by the CUB board in 1991, and started his two decades of leadership in January, 1992.

Bob has participated in nearly every major Oregon Public Utility Commission case since 1992 and remains just as passionate an advocate as he was when he started. As a native Oregonian, Bob believes in the power of this state to be a national leader on energy, environmental and consumer protection issues.

Sometimes, it's hard to get Bob to slow down; he goes from one public hearing to the next, from one rate case to the next and from one great idea, like fighting against deregulation and Enron to finding a way to close a modern coal plant using economic analysis and a pragmatic approach. In honor of Bob's 20 years, we are asking Bob, our staff, our board, our members and allies to all take a moment to reflect on Bob's 20 years at CUB and, in doing so, get excited for many more great years to come.
